Bringing high quality finishes and efficiency together to create your dream home
Here at Valhalla Homes our aim is to lift the standards of the residential construction industry. We are focused on home renovations and upgrades and are mindful of how many projects we undertake which allows us to closely monitor the quality and scheduling of the projects we undertake. Our main aim is to complete your renovation to the highest standard in the shortest time frame possible. This does not mean we are the fastest, it does however mean we ensure a quality build with high calibre finishes.
Our company director Tristan has over 17 years experience in the construction industry. Covering everything from volume building, high end custom builds and commercial construction giving him the knowledge, experience and trade base to tackle any project with confidence. Tristan began his journey with some of the biggest names in the volume residential industry where he gained a knowledge for fast paced construction. During this time his passion grew for resi building and he went on to complete his Certificate 4 in Building and Construction and Dual Diploma in Building and Construction and Construction Works Management. Whilst raising his young family he also gained his registration with the Victorian Building Authority back in 2017. With a keen eye for detail and a need for higher quality the natural progression was to tackle the High End Custom Build market. Call us crazy but our passion for renovating and upgrading homes translates very well from our previous experience. Transforming tired spaces is one of the most rewarding experiences we can provide. Valhalla takes the hassle out of updating your home by guiding you through every step of the journey. Our tailored approach will help you avoid the costly mistakes that are common during the renovation process. We cant wait to see your face light up when you walk into your newly renovated home!
1. Initial Consultation and Site Assessment
It's of key importance for us to gain a full understanding of your vision and requirements for the property we are working on. It is essential that we take the time to assess the site as a whole paying close attention to the structure and layout of the property to ensure that your ideas are feasible. We will take general measurements of your property and a series of photographs will be taken. We'll also investigate the services to the property. Areas such as the roof space and below the floor may need to be accessed. During our visit we will offer professional advice and let you know of any foreseeable costs and concerns associated with the site which you may not have considered or accounted for. We will then put forward the best way to proceed and clarify any questions you may have. This is an important step in the process, and one often missed. You MUST get the first step in the right direction or else you’ll end up in the wrong place!
2. Concept Documents
We take all of the things discussed in the initial consultation and start to work on your tailored documentation which will be delivered to you during the concept presentation. The concept is the design blueprint for your home. Depending on the scale of your project the timeframe for completing this process will vary. Documentation can include: Mood/Concept Boards, Colour Schemes, Floor Plans and Scale Drawings and Product Samples. Valhalla Interiors contributes a hugely to this process.
3. Concept Presentation
During this stage the Valhalla team present you with all concept documentation. It's essential to be completely honest during this step, we want to ensure your final design is amazing! It’s best we receive all of your feedback there and then, as we will be making notes throughout the meeting on elements that need to be tweaked before we move on to finalising your design. It’s also OK to be unsure, and take some time to think about an idea that is presented, a few days to let all the ideas sit with you is perfectly fine. Valhalla will leave a physical copy of the concept with you and send you an electronic version also. Once we reach the end of the concept meeting, you'll have a solid understanding of what your home is going to look like and we'll know what small changes are needed when we begin putting final documentation together.
4. Review and Specify
At this stage we start putting final documents together for you to review and agree with and sign off on. Again depending on the scale of your project time varies for this step. There may be a tonne of products to include in this list or there may be a few. When you’re reviewing your documents, there should be no surprises as we’ve discussed the rooms and products in great detail during the concept meeting. We’ll organise a trade day at this point where our team will visit your home and prepare individual quotes. We'll have an internal meeting and put together a final price for your review and agreement. A domestic building contract will be prepared at this stage.
5. Build Time!
This part of the journey is the last and most exciting component of the entire process. Our team will commence applications for any permits required and the renovations will begin once approvals are obtained. We are here with you through every step of the build process until final handover.
6. Support
Handover is not the end of our journey together. We will follow up with you for a 3 month maintenance inspection to ensure everything is running smoothly and you are 100% satisfied with your new space! Our team are always available to answer any questions you have in the mean time.
